Michael Duncan (22nd Co.) named Chester County Chamber of Commerce Executive of the Year

The Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry is proud to announce that our 2021 Executive of the Year is Michael Duncan, CEO of Chester County Hospital.

“Due to his many accomplishments at the hospital, including overseeing its world-class expansion and innovations, Mike would be an obvious choice in any year. However, given his leadership—and that of his entire team—over the past year, there is no leader and no institution in our region more deserving,” stated Guy Ciarrocchi, CEO of the Chamber.

When learning of the recognition, Duncan said it is one he is proud to accept and share with the entire Chester County Hospital family.  “The challenges all of us have experienced this year could never have been anticipated,” said Duncan.  “Working in the healthcare industry during a pandemic has been especially challenging. Despite the uncertainty COVID delivered, our hospital family stood tall in the face of fear; collaborated in ways one could never imagine and delivered safe, compassionate care to our community when needed most.  Duncan concluded, “The strength and endurance displayed by every hospital employee is my motivation. I am honored to accept this award on their behalf.”

“Our Chamber has honored leaders who excel in their field of expertise and positively impact our region. Mike Duncan exemplifies all of this: we are blessed to have him and his team in our County,” stated Thom Chiomento, of American Water, Chair of the Chester County Chamber.

Since 2000, the Chamber has honored founders, executives, and innovators in every industry, including Bill Covaleski & Ron Barchett of Victory Brewing, Ashley McEvoy of Johnson & Johnson, Nick DeBenedictis of Aqua, and Vanguard CEOs Jack Brennan and Bill McNabb.

Mike will receive his award at the Chamber’s Annual Awards Event to be held this fall at Longwood Gardens. Historically, the event brings together civic, business and government leaders from across the region in one of Pennsylvania’s signature events. Details are being finalized to comply with Covid-19 guidance and will be released in the near future.
