Run To Honor May 25th Quantico, VA

Dear Classmates and Company Reps,

Like many of you who have gotten involved in local Naval Academy Alumni Association Chapters, I am the chapter President for the Quantico Area Chapter (QAC) in Virginia. I ask your help in getting out the word to any companymates or friends who may find themselves in the Quantico area on this Memorial Day, May 25th.

On Memorial Day, our chapter sponsors an annual fundraising Fun Run at the National Museum of The Marine Corps, Quantico, VA. The race is an Alumni Association Run To Honor shared interest group (SIG) sanctioned 5K and 1 mile event (https://www.runtohonor.com/home).

Each year the chapter’s run honors a Naval Academy grad who was Killed in Action in the service of our country. This year we honor LT Brian Hoke class of 1996 and Navy SEAL. Brian was Killed in Action fighting ISIS in the area of Jalalabad Afghanistan in October 2016. Funds generated allow the chapter to award scholarships for young people to attend STEM programs and Summer Seminars at the Naval Academy. We use a 3rd party organization to market and operate the details of the race (race bibs, online marketing, manage credit cards, collecting funds, etc.)  at Bishopsevent.com/event/usnaaa-qac-2026-run-to-honor-5k/ .

Attached is the flier for the event. I hope you, your family and friends can join us in honoring this hero and helping young men and women to be inspired to follow him – and us – with USNA summer program scholarships.

Semper Fi,

Tommy Martinez (19th Co)
