“Today, on the 52nd anniversary of I-day, I had a chance to meet with Mark Gomez, pictured here. Mark was in 25th company for one semester. I had not seen him in 52 years. We spent several hours together, and it was great to be reacquainted.
I was reminded that Mark, though he did not graduate with the rest of the class… he is our brother. He took the same oath we all did and remains a patriot.
Let me offer a shameless plug to all classmates, as the 50th reunion coordinator. Look for the guys who did not graduate and invite them to be a part of our class. In Mark’s case he is now planning on attending our reunion. Also reach out to the classmates that did graduate who we haven’t heard from in a long while. We are just over two years away. Time will go quickly and finding them and encouraging their reengagement can take some effort.
