Classmates,
With great sorrow we send our sincere condolences to our classmate, John Mathre (16th CO), on the loss of his wife, Linda.
John Klose (16th CO) shared a note from his company-mate that Linda passed after a long time coping with cancer on August 23. On that Sunday morning the struggle became too great, and Linda died at home. John and Linda had recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on August 9th.
John’s two daughters, Kristen and Annie, were with him and sang together Thy Holy Wings to Linda as she passed. His son, Erik, quickly joined them afterwards. There will be a memorial service for Linda at their church, Faith Lutheran Church in Redmond, Washington, on September 12th.
John said that although life is difficult now, they, with our Lord’s love and guidance, are coping together as a family. John reminds us to “enjoy and cherish what you have…” and, “Peace be with you.”
