Loss of our Classmate, David A. Brown (7th Co.)

Classmates,

With great sadness I must report that we lost our classmate, David A. Brown (7th CO) yesterday.

Ed Henkler sent a note about Dave that I would like to share with you…

“I’m very sad to report that my brother from another mother, Dave Brown, is no longer with us having passed on 11-March-26 after an exceptionally long battle with kidney cancer. Strong to the end, he outlived every expiry issued by doctors and hospice but the toll was finally too high. You often hear the expression, “Jack of all trades, Master of none.” DB might have been the exception. There were so many things he did so well from vocal and instrumental music to sports and a long career in aviation. He sang at our wedding and I remember my bride saying she felt she had heard a voice straight from heaven. Channeling the Righteous Brothers, I am sure he is now performing with a hell of a band in the rock and roll heaven. He also operated the 7th Company barbershop (but that’s another story).

Given how many times we sang Eternal Father, it might be appropriate to include:

Lord, guard and guide the ones who fly
Through the great spaces in the sky.
Be with them always in the air,
In darkening storms or sunlight fair.

O hear us as we lift our prayer for those in peril in the air”

We will relay memorial plans when they become available. Please keep Dave’s wife, Jaye, and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

 Fair winds…

Glen
