Greg Atchison (6th Co.) won his age group and finished 4th overall in the New River Splash Duathlon. The New River Splash Duathlon is a great event put on by the Jacksonville Onslow Sports Commission offering a triathlon, duathlon and 5K. Very well organized with an awesome venue and bike/run courses with special thanks to the Marines at Camp Lejeune who provided about 14 miles of wide open, 4-lane boulevards free of traffic for the bike leg while local law enforcement kept us safe at all the intersections on the course off base. Lonely day on the podium as awards only went one deep. Greg won his age group, but better yet, finished 4th overall and had the 3rd fastest bike split to fend off the field.
