Former Supe Gets one More Swearing In

The Naval Academy will receive the incoming class over a four-day period, Jun. 29 – Jul. 2, 2020 in order to take the necessary, precautionary steps to safely induct and train the Class of 2024 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.  The incoming plebe class will participate in a 14-day restriction of movement (ROM) upon arrival to USNA.  During the ROM at USNA, plebes will be indoctrinated in the Naval Academy’s moral and mental missions through online lectures, and the study of the Navy’s Bluejacket Manual and Midshipmen Regulations Manual.  At the completion of their ROM, the Class of 2024 will be sworn in by the Commandant but there will be no opportunity for a personal swearing in on I-Day.  So Catherine Schlosser, USNA 2024 from Bismarck, had an early private remote swearing in by former Supe Jeff Fowler (12th Co.) who is also from Bismarck.  Catherine hopes to follow in the footsteps of other Bismarck Academy grads like our classmate Mark Munson (5th Co.) and two in addition to Jeff who have achieved Flag rank, Admiral Bill Owens ’62 and Jeff’s sponsor at USNA, RADM Charles Moses ‘26.
