Celebration of the Vietnam Era POWs 50th “Year of Freedom”

Classmates,

Rudy Costanzo (16th CO) asked me to share with you news about the celebration of the Vietnam era POWs 50th “year of freedom” from the prisons of Vietnam. Rudy learned about this May 2023 event at his weekly breakfast with “Old Salts” in Norfolk. Rudy recalled our leadership instructor, Captain Jack Fellows, a Hanoi Hilton inmate, and thought some of us would be interested in supporting this event. Here is information on the event from the official Vietnam-era Prisoners of War (POW) web site:

“In May 2023 the NAM-POWs will be celebrating their 50th year of freedom from the prisons of Vietnam. Like the historic White House dinner in May of 1973 (replicated at the 40th NAM-POW Reunion at the Nixon Library in May of 2013), the NAM-POWs will again celebrate their 50th Reunion at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, California in May of 2023 with a repeat of that memorable 1973 White House dinner. This 50th Reunion will be the last official reunion for all the surviving Vietnam POWs. With less than 50% of the NAM-POWs remaining and their average age well into the 80s, in order to get as many NAM-POWs as possible to attend this important milestone, we are asking for donations to help offset the cost for this reunion as much as possible.”

If you are interested in supporting this event, you can contribute online at www.nam-pows.org by clicking the “Donate” button on the cover page and then the “Donate Now” button on the next page that comes up. It will link to the NAM-POWs, INC PayPal account.

To donate by check, make out the check to NAM-POWs, INC. and send it to the NAM-POWs Treasurer listed below
