“Part of the USNA mission reads, “provide graduates who are dedicated to a career of naval service.” The end of this month marks my exit from the civil service. After 22 years in the Marine Corps, 21 years as a GS testing Marine Corps equipment, and a four year stint at a little known undergraduate institution on the banks of the Severn River, I’m declaring Mission Complete. It has been a honor to serve Marines across four continents. I wish the next generation well, for I fear the challenges ahead. “Request permission to go ashore.””
