Reminder: Call for Proposed Candidates for Eastern and Central Region Trustees

Section 4.5(b) of the Bylaws states as follows: “Any regular member may propose candidates to the nominating committee to be considered for the positions of the chair, vice chair and regional trustee.” Section 2.1 of the Bylaws defines a regular member as a graduate of the United States Naval Academy (the “Academy”) and former midshipmen who did not graduate from the Academy, after the last Academy class of which they were a member has graduated and who, in each case, have applied for membership and have been admitted.

In May 2020, the Eastern Region Trustee, CDR William D. Squires ’75 USN (Ret.) and the Central Region Trustee, CDR Richard A. Cataldi ’69, USN (Ret.) have completed their first terms and are now seeking re-election.

A nominating committee has been formed pursuant to Section 4.5(a) of the Bylaws to find and recommend to the Board one or more nominees for the Eastern and Central Regional Trustees’ position.

Regular members are encouraged to propose candidates to the nominating committee to be considered for the Eastern and Central Region Trustees position.

Proposed candidates must be regular members of the Alumni Association who have expressed a willingness to serve as a trustee. Proposed candidates for the regional trusteeship must reside in the region they intent to serve.

Members who want to propose a candidate may do so by sending their submissions to:
